antique brass lantern from Lake Michigan buoy, oil lamp nautical navigation signal light
more photos of this product belowUnrestored old brass buoy light, probably early 1900s vintage. This has been in a barn here in Wisconsin for about 100 years. We think it most likely came from a Lake Michigan buoy before that, though I can't find any markings on it at all.
This measures about 12" tall over the lamp (not counting the handle) The chimney top is broken loose from the lamp, and needs to be re-soldered. Lamp burner looks complete I think, and probably functional.
This is heavily tarnished, spotted and rough from age and exposure to the elements. We wiped it with a damp cloth, but have not given it a real cleaning. The fresnel glass looks very good without damage.
