antique embossed glass bottle S B Beaver Dam Bottling Company Wisconsin vintage advertising
more photos of this product belowEarly 1900s vintage pale green glass soda or beer bottle embossed Beaver Dam Bottling Company, Beaver Dam Wisconsin. This is antique, or very nearly so. Probably pre-prohibition.
The center and the bottom of the bottle are embossed SB, which not all of the Beaver Dam Bottling pieces are.
I haven't been able to track down who SB or S and B are. Sellen and Binzel are names in the early breweries in the area, but I've found no trace of them being in the bottling business together. I can't find any other S or B names in bottling in the area histories I've been able to find.
If you know more about the history of this piece, please email me - I'd love to know more about it! I found this at a flea market in the Beaver Dam area, it's never been far from home, I think.
The bottle is 7 1/2 ounce size, about 7 3/4" tall. The embossed lettering is nice and strong without noticeable wear, and there's not much wear to the bottle as a whole. No chips or cracks.
This does have soil from about a hundred years of storage - I've just wiped it down, haven't soaked or scrubbed it. There's dust and dirt inside, not terrible. The photos show the exact bottle you'll be receiving.
