antique flax linen w/ folk art embroidery, fringed table runner or pillow cover 1920s vintage

I'm not sure if this piece was made as a table mat or a pillow cover. It's about a hundred years old and doesn't look as though it's ever been used at all.

I love the natural flax brown color of the rustic linen fabric, and the fringed ends! You could use this with either the plain or embroidered side facing out, it's equally lovely.

One of the long (unfringed) sides is a fold, the other is open along selvages. Size is about 18" x-" not counting the fringe.
