Beautiful old amber colored pressed glass panel from a 1890s heater / fire, marked with a patent date.

We haven't found the original patent for this piece, and are hazy on the details, as we've only been told of it's general purpose. Not sure if this went with a gas fire or electric heater, or for a wood or coal burning stove?

It's made with a flame pattern / shape to give a warm fireplace look and screen any apparatus behind it, and we'd guess that it's original metal mounting was long gone when it was set in the grooved wood as it is now.

Size is 10 1/2" wide x a little over 7" tall, and condition is excellent - nice and clean, no chips or cracks to the glass. The bubbles are original makers flaws, and are smooth on the outside.
