art deco tarnished silver photo / picture frame, hallmarked silver plate

Lovely shabby old silver plated frame with some indecipherable hallmarks as shown. We know very little about this piece, but it's quite possible that it's very nice, or at least very old.

It's out of of a estate of several generations packed away for many years. The family came out of New York and upstate New York, and had some exceptionally nice pieces including antique pottery and porcelain from the UK and Europe, and some 1870s-1880s pieces out of New York. We wouldn't think this was that old, but it was very carefully saved, though it looks so mouldy!

The frame has an opening 8 1/2" x 6", and a very worn and spotted velvet covered backing. It's a little scratched and very tarnished, we haven't touched it beyond a dust cloth.
