bolts of antique vintage wide lace insertion, white cotton batiste french alencon lace
more photos of this product below
Two bolts of vintage cotton lace insertion, 5" wide tape for french hand
sewing or other heirloom projects. It's a fine cotton batiste with
alencon type lace, I think. So pretty.
The cardboard bolts are worn and scratched up - we'd guess that the
bolts are 1930s or 40s, and that the trim itself could easily be older.
We are not sure of the country of origin of the trim, as the bolts are
just marked for a distributor in New York. Probably French or Belgian.
The trimming is in very good condition with a little discoloration or
yellowing from age or storage, and looks very usable yet, even with the
spotting. This has never been laundered, it's nice and crisp.
We've measured this, and there's about 38 yards in all, many pieces!
One bolt holds one piece 7 1/2 yards, one piece 5 3/4 yards, one piece 4
1/2 yards.
One bolt holds one piece 6 yards, one piece 3 1/2 yards, one piece 3
yards, three pieces 1 yard (or a little over).
There's also one 3 yard length of two pieces seamed together lengthwise.
