antique brass adjustable work light w/ helmet shade, O C White vintage

Machine age industrial, O. C. White or Faries vintage, adjustable work or desk light... brass with a helmet shade. This old task lighting is an authentic vintage original fixture and not a newer reproduction.

It has a telescoping brass base (from about 10" to 17" if there is sufficient slack left in the electrical wiring) and an adjustable ornate knuckle joint at the head. The socket is a fat boy style with brass shell and beaded pull chain.

The socket is marked with an arrow and the letter E. We think that this is Arrow Electric Co. and dates to between about 1910 and 1927 when Arrow Electric became Arrow-Hart & Hegeman.

The shade is steel and fits onto the end of the lamp socket.

The industrial mounting plate at the base of the light is steel and is made to fit onto a electrical junction box or work surface.

This fixture does need to be rewired and there is some light wear to the old green paint on the helmet shade.
