antique Chadwick adjustable machinist's reamer tool Arthur Ley's patent

It reamer is marked as patented under -Arthur Ley's Patent-. We're not sure of the exact vintage of this tool from this mark. But you normally think of this type of patent marking (rather then a patent date or number) as being mid 1800 around the Civil War. But we're not sure.

It is marked as a No 2 and adjustable from 7/8" to 31/32". But we don't know if this is functional and we're selling it as an antique tool for the value of the age and markings.

This has a patina of age.
