early Clay-Adams Junior electric centrifuge Babcock farm dairy test
more photos of this product belowOld late 1800s or early 1900 vintage Clay-Adams electric dairy centrifuge. This would have been used in a farm dairy or creamery for performing the Babcock test for the butterfat content of the milk. This is a Junior centrifuge and has heavy solid brass tubes to hold the calibrated glass vials (not included, sorry) and sockets in the centrifuge arm and textured industrial finish.
The name plate on this centrifuge is marked with Canadian patent number 6230, which was issued on June, 21st, 1876. We plugged this centrifuge in and it runs, but it does have some wear and soil from storage,
