vintage heavy copper escargot pan w/ long iron handle

Vintage heavy copper pan with a long iron handle... we're told this is an escargot pan? It's not marked that we could find, but we'd think it would be French copper if it's for snails, though might be Dutch?

The pan measures 8" in diameter across the bowl x 2" deep, and measures about 21" long overall including the iron handle.
