antique 1870s Farm Legends illustrated poetry, Victorian gilt art binding

Antique Victorian vintage 1876 edition of Farm Legends, a book of poetry by Will Carleton -author of Farm Ballads-. The original copyright date is 1875.This book has an ornate embossed gilt art binding and gilt page edges. It is illustrated with many engravings or etchings.

This still has the original book seller's paper stamp (from Galena, ILL) on the inside of the front cover.

There was also an old 2 1/2" x 4 1/2" advertising card from C. F. Taylor & Co - Successors to Gale, Sampson & Co a lumber dealer in Warren, ILL tucked inside as a book mark. This card looks to be the same general age and we think that it has been there for a long time and so we're leaving it there.

This has 131 pages and is in very nice condition with an inscription on the front end paper. There is a little light soil and a few spots to the cover.
