more photos of this product belowAntique Arts and Crafts vintage architectural, solid brass doorknobs with ornate (William Morris style) floral escutcheon plates. Both of the door knobs are hallmarked on the base of the shanks with "Russell & Erwin Mfg Co - New Britain CT U.S.A - Pat Apr 12 92". These are the original doorknobs and plates and not reproductions. Russell & Erwin began producing architectural hardware in the late Victorian period (1872) and so these knobs were patented just 20 years after Russell and Erwin began production.
These old brass door knobs measure 2 1/4" across, 2 1/4" high and 3/4" across the brass knob shank. The steel connecting shank measures 0.03" square. The plates measure 7 1/4" long, 1 3/4" wide. and about 0.09" thick.
These are in excellent condition with a lovely patina of age to the brass.
