geisha girl china, vintage hand-painted Japan porcelain plates, cup & saucer sets

Vintage Japan china, geisha girls pattern, all hand-painted with amazingly detailed scenes! This lot is four fluted plates 7" in diameter, four 7 1/4" plates with a smooth rim, two nut dishes (tiny fluted bowls) 3" in diameter, a cream pitcher and sugar bowl, and seven cups and saucers.

This is very old, very thin porcelain, cheaply made for Woolworth's and other five and dime stores. Very few of these pieces have wear to the painted design, but most of these pieces have a least a tiny chip or two, and many pieces have noticeable chips. We wouldn't hesitate to use these pieces ourselves, it is what it is, pretty to look at and brightly exotic, but not made for the wear and tear of use everyday.
