hand crafted rawhide laced leather drum, rough wood log w/ twisted hide lacing

We know nothing at all about this primitive drum, and can't tell you anything about it's age or origins. It came to us with some other estate pieces from an antique dealer, but it's probably not an antique?

There are no markings that we could find, though we'd expect to find them on a souvenir piece. It looks more like an African drum to us than a Native American Indian piece.

It's rawhide leather with rawhide lacing over what looks to be a wood log with some bark remaining. The leather is in good shape. Overall size is about 4 3/4" in diameter x 6 3/4" tall.
