handmade vintage sewing basket, square woven reed 'bowl' on wood board

Handmade sewing basket woven of fine reeds on board base, 9 1/2" x 10 1/2".

We've been told this an older basket made by the blind, 40s or 50s vintage. Baskets aren't our specialty, but this does look like a mid-century vintage piece to us.

It's nicely made and in very good condition without cracks or breakage to the caning.
