hand-painted Daruma rice bowls, vintage Japan porcelain dishes set

Eight Japanese porcelain rice bowls with hand-painted Darumas. We've been told that this figure symbolizes prosperity and luck, but we can't translate the characters at all, I'm sorry.

The bowls measure about 4" in diameter, and are all in excellent, unused condition. These are very nice!
