heavy carved stone mortar & pestle, red/ brown banded agate or onyx

1990s vintage carved stone mortar and pestle, not marked - made of banded agate or onyx? This is lovely thing, and is heavy enough to stay put while you're using it to crush herbs or grind spices. The bowl measures about 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" overall.
