vintage lacquer ware trays, large round tray set in Japan lacquerware

Pair of large round trays, black lacquerware, each with a different design. One is bamboo, the other is a scene of mountains behind a temple.

These are melamine or plastic under the lacquer, we think, rather than wood? They are large (about 15" in diameter across the rims) and lightweight, with a very even gloss on the finish.

The reverse or each tray is marked AIZU - G, Imaoka Trading Company. We haven't been able to find out any further information about either artist or the company, so are a little uncertain as to the exact age of the trays, but they're beautiful, functional pieces - not new, but in very nice condition.
