large cheese knife for professional kitchen or deli, vintage Germany

Large vintage professional quality cheese knife with a full tang and offset handle. This knife has a very heavy stainless steel blade and measures 10" long over the cutting edge(16" long over the handle). It is made for cutting large wheels and pieces of hard cheese.

The blade is marked Coles NY - Germany. We've been told that Coles was a specialty knife importer in the late 1960s and early 1970s and was importing most of their knives from Germany.
