vintage desk accessory letter opener or paper knife - Germany

Old metal letter opener / desk ruler with an embossed handle. This is marked Germany on the side with the ruler. It measures 9" long and is in nice condition, but looks like it may have been sharpened at home. The steel under the chrome plating is showing along the knife edge.
