vintage ornate metal jewelry box w/ Swiss music movement, cover made for needlework or picture

Early - mid century vintage cast metal jewelry box with mechanical music box made in Switzerland (this works fine).

The cover looks at though it was made to hold a picture, perhaps a photo, or a piece of needlework. It's empty now, as shown. And it's loose from the box, need to be reattached. It'll be a beautiful piece with a little work, looks as though it was loved and well cared for over the years.
