1950's vintage metal lunchbox w/ trays, picnic sandwich carrier box

Cute vintage metal carrier box with sliding metal shelves... we've been told that this is a picnic box, like a portable breadbox for sandwiches or other flat and fragile picnic treats. We haven't ever seen a lunch box like this before!

The box overall measures 8 1/2" x 6 1/4" x 7" tall, and is all metal, with a metal handle to carry it by, and a metal latch. The outside is painted, the inside is tinning over steel.

There are the complete five original trays inside (the ones between the others would hold items about 1 1/4" thick, with larger spaces at the top, and below the bottom tray). The tin looks good, a little darkening, but very little rust. The exterior of the box looks good, too.
