old gold encrusted china charger plate w/ hand-painted violets, vintage Limoges porcelain tray
more photos of this product belowLovely early 1900s antique china charger with encrusted gold in an art nouveau style, handpainted floral of purple violets at the center. This is Jean Pouyat Limoges porcelain, decorated by White's Art - Chicago.
We have never found work marked White's before, and were surprised this piece was not Pickard, it looks so much like older Pickard pieces. We're wondering if White was connected with the Pickard company at some point, or if his artists were recruited from them.
The plate measures 13" in diameter. There's no chips, cracks or wear to the gold, though there's a little brown foxing, and a few discolored spots to the gold work.
