old hand carved wood mold for cookies, rice, butter mold? paisley leaf design

Hand carved mold with a leaf shaped pattern - a cookie mold? or for rice cakes or a butter mold? I'm not sure, but I loved the design on this piece. It's somewhat cupped from age and / or use, still displays very nicely.
