ornate antique vintage silver plate metal birds, large long tail bird pair

Large vintage metal birds, 7 1/2" long. These have heads which unscrew, it's a salt and pepper set, we think?

These aren't marked that we could see (Rogers?), and are cast metal with worn silver or antique bronze colored plating.
