oversized soap dish, antique white ironstone bowl & insert for cheese or butter cooler

Antique English ironstone china oval bowl, with removable china insert as shown. I don't know that the insert is original to this bowl as it is not marked at all, but it fits very well!

These underplates were common to use under butter blocks or cheese to keep them cool and dry in the kitchen or pantry - we think it would work excellently today to hold a big bar of soap!

The soap shown is a Watkins bar, just to give you an idea as to the size and scale here. Not included.

The dish measures 7 3/4" across the 6" across the rim, insert measures 5" x 3 1/2". The insert has no makers mark, the bowl is marked Furnival & Co. with the English arms.
