pair vintage cast metal birds, heavy bookends w/ antique gold bronze finish french country style

Pair of beautiful old bird book ends, very heavy cast metal with a golden bronze colored finish. I don't know if these are meant to be swallows or sparrows? The figures are much larger than the actual birds would be, these are about 6" tall overall.

The finish looks good without much scratching or discoloration, but one of the birds has 'clipped' wings. See photos, the silvery spelter type base metal shows where the wing tips were broken off. I love them anyway, these are so sweet.
