C D Peacock silver plate over copper, vintage reproduction Revere bowl

Revere bowl marked for C D Peacock, measures 5 3/4" x 3 1/2".

We've been told that the silver plate for Peacock's is silver over copper, but can't be positive about that, since we don't want to damage this piece by scratching it down to the base metal.

The silver plating has only light scratching, no worn away spots to the silver.
