primitive style old antique wood pencils, children's school prize pencils?

Here's a lot of two very large old wooden pencils with a great primitive look! We've shown a 'regular' pencil next to them for scale - the longest of these is about 11 1/2" end to end.

We're not sure if these were novelties or fair prizes, or school pencils for prizes or early writers. Very cute - usable - display pieces, whatever they are!
