Late 1940s vintage Occupied Japan blue transferware china platter with sailing ship center design, roses floral border. This is a pattern I very seldom see, with 1880s style scene. It's a lovely piece for coastal style decor, with a very nautical look in this deep blue color.

The platter measures 12 1/2" long end to end. There's fine glaze crazing from age, but no chips or cracks, or any noticeable wear. Nice and glossy!

Occupied Japan marks date to just after WWII, late 1940s. There's not a lot of Occupied Japan ceramic pieces left around these days, they are becoming increasingly hard to find.
