black grosgrain / stiffened cotton hat band facing milliner's ribbon, large roll

This is a grosgrain ribbon or banding backed with plain black cotton, stiff and heavy, for use in making hats (this and some other sewing notions we're listing came out of a tailor / milliner's estate, though we don't know exactly what this was used for).

The ribbon measures 7/8" wide, there are 31 yards on this roll, all in one continous piece. It's in excellent condition.
