antique Henry Disston & Sons 1800s adjustable saw vise for sharpening saws
more photos of this product belowAntique 1800s vintage, adjustable saw vise for holding saw blades while hand sharpening the teeth with a file. It is nicely marked on the front clamping jaw "Henry Disston & Sons" and measures about 9" across the clamp and 15" high. This vise is fully adjustable with a ball and socket joint.
We've been told that this vise might be a No 1 because of the ball joint, but the clamp is controlled with a screw rather then the usual lever.
The back side of the vise has been repaired (brazed, we think) in the past, before this was repainted with older industrial gray paint.
