sawtooth carving hand carved wood pincushion 'box' vintage primitive tramp art style

Antique handmade pincushion, hand carved wood, early 1900s vintage. This is a little bigger than a cigar box, about 7 1/2" x 5" x 4" overall. It's not signed that I could see.

When I first saw this piece, I was sure it must be a puzzle box as well as a pincushion - but I've looked all over it, and I don't think it opens? It doesn't rattle, so in any case there's no jewelry or sewing things inside.
