set of six vintage Japan ceramic watermelon shape bowls for fruit, salad, tacos

Unused set of six individual size watermelon shaped bowls, hand painted, in watermelon red and green. These are marked only Japan, though I've been told they're Pier 1 pieces. They measure about 6' x 4 1/4" across the rim, stand 2 1/2" tall. Probably made for fruit or salads, but they'd be excellent bowls for dips, salsa, or tacos!
