shabby 1940s bed doll sewing box, vintage sewing box w/ chalkware doll top

This is a pretty 1940s vintage sewing box in need of some restoration work.

The doll's dress skirt was supposed to have been the cover for the box, I think - but the lid of the box and the doll's dress are missing.

The box is a heavy cardboard covered with print cotton fabric (a little faded and dirty now). It's about 9" in diameter.

The doll body is painted plaster chalkware, and stands about 5" tall as she is. She's a little worn and dirty, too.
