shabby antique red white blue patchwork quilts w/ 1800s print calico, shirting fabrics
more photos of this product below Pair of 1880s - 1890s patchwork quilts out
of the collection of a dealer in antique textiles. These are shredded
and browned and worn, but are an interesting collection of 19th century
fabrics in popular period colors.
The blue quilt measures about 66" x 73", and the red quilt measures
about 70" x 76".
These are tied over wool battings, and I don't believe it'll be possible
to ever wash them, as the weight of the fabrics will destroy the quilt
tops, I think.
We've aired them laid flat on sheets on sawhorses, set in the shade.
They still smell a little stale.
