shabby vintage hand stitched crazy quilts, velvet ribbon stripes & satin postage stamp blocks

Lot of two 1920s or 30s vintage quilts made of satins and cottons (the postage stamp quilt) and velvets, satins and cottons (the ribbon stripe quilt).

These are lovely - gorgeous colors, striking patterns. But both have serious fabric damage (holes and shredding) to the fabrics. Not sure if it's even possible to repair these, or get enough good material for cutting to re-purpose.

Both are made over plain unbleached cotton feed sacks or flour sacks, so they don't come apart all over as you handle them. But there's so much damage to the 'fancy' fabrics here!

The postage stamp quilt is backed in solid pink cotton (faded and discolored now). It's been hand quilted and measures about 96" x 76".

The ribbon striped quilt has been hand tied, not quilted. It has spots front and back, and measures about 42" x 60", just a lap robe size.
