old USA mark, Shawnee pottery tea pot, 40s vintage burgundy red teapot

Early Shawnee pottery teapot, marked only USA. This is the layered petals ribbed pattern, burgundy color, we think? We'd call it more of a maroon color than a dusty pink.

The pot is sized to hold tea for one or two - a single mug or two tea cups - measures 5" tall. There are no chips or cracks to the teapot or the lid, but there is a little glaze rubbed away at the spout.
