silver over brass, antique vintage sheffield plate brides basket, England

Early 1900s pierced wrought brass bride's basket... originally silver plated, but with nearly all of the plating worn away by polishing over the years. This in a English piece, we think, marked Empire Art Silver E & JB, with a crown mark.

The basket measures 10 1/2" in diameter across the basket rim, about 12" tall overall (5 3/4" to the basket rim from the bottom).
