small stoneware crock, french country style vintage jam pot or pickle jar w/ lid

Vintage stoneware pottery crock with lid, marked only '8' on the bottom. It's two tone glaze, the traditional crock greige with brown. Very heavy, though small - this stands just 3 3/4" tall.

Condition is very good, clean inside and out, no damage or wear.
