vintage heavy stoneware pottery beer steins or cider mugs, man w/ pipe

Set of four heavy stoneware tankards, brown and white glazed, with a relief design of a man smoking a pipe.

These are about 4 1/2" tall, all in excellent condition, never used. (The set still has the old paper hang tag - Hibbard Hardware for Hard Wear - Hibbard, Spencer, Barlett & Co.)

The mugs are marked with a maker, we think? though it's so faint we can't make out the markings.
