antique primitive tinned steel strainer bowl, old brass sieve, 1920s vintage sifter

1920s vintage strainer with brass screening set in a tin plated steel bowl. This came out of a farm estate here in Wisconsin.

We have no idea what this was originally used for, but it looks like it would work well has a sifter, or as a bowl to hold anything where you'd like air to circulate - possibly bunches of cut herbs? There's a hanging hole in the rim if you just love interesting old things to hang on the wall to admire. (We have quite a collection of unusual things hung just about everywhere around here!)
