unusual flora & fauna china tea cup & saucer, vintage Japan porcelain hand-painted bird & insect

We love this vintage Japanese porcelain teacup and saucer, with a hand painted design of bird holding an insect in it's beak. Love the colors, too... green and pink on pure white.

The mark is Japanese characters, so we sadly can't tell you much about the maker or history of this piece. We're guessing it's early 1900s vintage based on the workmanship and the art style and subject.

The bowl of the cup measures about 3 3/4" in diameter, and both the cup and the saucer are in very good condition without chips or cracks.
