vintage Ardalt Japan white & gold china shell dishes, tea tidies or salt dips

Lovely set of small shell shaped dishes... nut cups, salt dips, or tea bag holders? These are Lenwile Ardalt made in Japan, with hand-painted gold. Size is 4" long over each of the four dishes, and the entire set is in excellent condition.
