vintage Castleton Japan ironstone china dishes, octagonal bowls & salad plates green & aqua print border

I love the birds and flowers pattern border and the interesting octagonal shape of these vintage china plates and bowls. Perfect cool green and blue on white, these will look great in an old world French country look or a modern farmhouse style kitchen.

This is Castleton china, made in Japan - late 1960s or 70s vintage. It's called Independence Ironstone, though it's not really anything like old English or American made ironstone. There's two each of the 8" plates and 8" bowls, one plate has a chip. All four pieces have glaze crazing, though all are nice and bright without utensil marks or any wear to the border.
