vintage DOG dish, Robinson Ransbottom pottery crock RRP Roseville Ohio
more photos of this product belowI love this worn old crockery dog dish, marked simply DOG. It's yellow ware color stoneware with the lettering in brown. This is the size of a medium mixing bowl, about 7 1/2" across the rim.
This is early 1900s vintage, long before we had endlessly customized pieces for everyone and everything. It was special enough that a dog had his own dish marked just for him. And it was saved for years, though it's chipped at the rim, far from perfect.
Mark on the bottom is RRP Co.. Robinson Ransbottom, of Roseville Ohio - yes, that Roseville, though not the same company that makes the art pottery. Robinson Ransbottom is known for their flower pots and planters, crocks and utility kitchenware. Very sturdy, made to last.
