vintage Gemco glass shaker, yellow glass jar w/ orange shaker lid

Vintage Gemco glass shaker jar with metal lid (not a salt or pepper shaker, holes are too big - maybe for cheese, red pepper flakes, flour, sugar ?). It's about 2 1/4" in diameter, and stands 3 1/2" tall.

The jar is clear glass with a colored finish, like old Anchor Hocking or Hazel Atlas glass. The lid is enameled steel, in very nice condition.
