vintage Gokey label heavy leather satchel shoulder bag, 1940s 50s hunting shooting bag

pre Orvis Special Sports Equipment Beautiful very heavy leather sportsman's bag, with plain, unlined interior - nice old Gokey St Paul label. This is probably 1940s, I think. Label is marked Gokey Special Sports Equipment, no mention of Orvis.

It's been used, and does show a little scuffing to the leather. It's been waterproofed in the old fashioned way with beeswax or mink oil type product, which has left a waxy residue but kept the leather from drying out with age.

You'll probably want to clean and re-oil it if you're using this as a metro bag or purse. I think it would be great in the field just as it is!
