vintage Made in Japan black lacquerware tea cups & saucers, hand painted metallic gold

Lot of two hand painted lacquerware tea cups and saucers, marked Made in Japan.

These are very light (some type of composition or plastic?) with glossy black exteriors and metallic gold inside the cups. Probably made as decorative pieces, I think - they'd be lovely as trinket dishes, or to hold a little greenery like a planter.

The cups are 3 3/4" across the rim, saucers are 5 1/4" in diameter. Paint and finish look good, very few marks or scratches.
