vintage Mexican pottery figurine, Tonala burnished clay hand painted squirrel, or bird?

Tonala Mexico art pottery - I think this piece is a squirrel, though it has a beak like a bird! It's a little over 10" long x 8" tall, a fairly large piece, in very good condition.
